Bookkeeper’s Assistant

Reports To: Director of Finance

Location: Brockton

The Bookkeeper’s Assistant supports the financial operations of the organization by assisting with data entry, record keeping, and basic accounting tasks. This role ensures accuracy in financial documentation and helps maintain organized records for audits, reporting, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter financial transactions into accounting software.

  • Maintain and organize receipts, invoices, and other financial documents.

  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.

  • Support employee expense tracking.

  • Assist with preparing for audits.

  • Communicate with vendors and clients regarding billing and payments.

  • Perform general administrative tasks related to finance and bookkeeping.

Required Software Skills:

  • Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and basic data analysis)

  • Microsoft Word (for documentation and reporting)

  • Microsoft Outlook (or other email/calendar platforms)

  • Adobe

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with nonprofit financial practices

  • Prior experience in a bookkeeping or administrative support role.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or finance preferred.

  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Hours: Part-Time - Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9am-1pm

Rate: $23-27 hour depending on experience

Benefits: 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked. Excellent supervision, ongoing training and supportive work environment provided.
