Fall 2024 Paid Internship

Family and Community Resources, Inc., (FCR) is looking for an individual who is passionate about making a difference in her/his community.  The position is part-time and the schedule can be flexible; the individual will have the opportunity to complete and contribute to projects and initiatives essential to the functions of the organization and will receive direct hands-on experience and knowledge development in the areas of domestic violence, relationship health, development and communication, mental health, administration, and day-to-day operations of a non-profit organization.

The Departments currently seeking a Fall Intern include:

  • Court Ordered Visitation Services  

    • Provide advocacy, case management, and supervised visitation services to further protect all program participants from verbal, emotional, and physical abuse and to assist noncustodial parents in having safe, loving, nurturing visits with their children

    • Possibly working in Brockton, Quincy, Braintree, or Hyannis

    • Must be able to work weekends

  • Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention (TAP)

    • Assist program director and coordinators with crisis intervention, safety planning, case management, housing assistance, and providing advocacy to survivors of human trafficking

    • Help with community outreach

    • Proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable

  • Family Based Support and Stabilization Visitation

    • Provide direct services to clients accessing Parenting Time Visitation Services including monitoring family time between children in out of home placements (i.e. foster care, residential placements, etc.) and submitting reports to the Department of Children and Families after training

    • Potential to work in Brockton or Raynham

    • Ability to work Saturdays is required

  • Intimate Partner Abuse Education Program (IPAEP)

    • Work collaboratively with IPAEP staff and gain insight/knowledge of adult men who use violence in their relationships

    • Assist in activities related to community engagement, data entry and reporting, direct service and advocacy

  • Development and Communications

    • Complete and contribute to projects and initiatives essential to the functions of the organization and will receive direct hands-on experience and skills development in the areas of fundraising, event planning, social media marketing, and day-to-day operations of a non-profit organization

  • Administration

    • Assist to day to day functioning of office and organization with multiple locations and staff members across the Southshore of Massachusetts

Qualifications (Vary Based on Department Placement)

  • Must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate program at college or university

  • Driver’s license required; Background check required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail; excellent proofreading skills; ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task, work independently and within a team, and take initiative

  • Professional appearance in the community; friendly and outgoing personality; ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds

15-20 hours per week; pay range $24 to $25/hour
