Voices Beyond Violence
Real Conversations - Community Voices - Pathways to Safety, Healing, and Hope
Voices Beyond Violence (VBV) is a community-centered podcast created by Family and Community Resources, Inc. (FCR) in Brockton, Massachusetts, in partnership with the Massachusetts Secretary of State’s Address Confidentiality Program (ACP).
The podcast was created to bring our agency closer to the community we serve through awareness, education, honest conversation, and access to resources.
We believe that when we bring difficult issues into the light, we can begin to take away some of their power.
By talking openly about violence and the issues that deeply impact our community, we can increase understanding, reduce stigma, help people recognize warning signs, and make it easier for individuals and families to find the support they need.
Why Voices Beyond Violence?
Every community has challenges that can be difficult to talk about. Sometimes those conversations are uncomfortable. Sometimes they are painful. But silence can make it harder for people to understand what is happening, recognize when someone needs help, or know where to turn.
Voices Beyond Violence brings these issues into the conversation.
Our Episodes will explore topics including:
Stalking
Domestic violence
Human trafficking
Sexual assault
Violence prevention
Healthy and unhealthy relationships
Safety and survivor support
Trauma, healing, and resilience
Youth safety and well-being
And other issues that deeply impact our community
By shining a light on these topics, we believe we can better understand them, have more control over how we respond to them, and make it easier for people to access help.
Our goal is to:
Raise awareness
Provide education
Break down stigma
Connect people to resources
Amplify community voices
Support survivors
Build safer communities
A Partnership Centered on Safety and Survivor Support
Voices Beyond Violence is being developed in partnership with the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Office Address Confidentiality Program (ACP).
The Address Confidentiality Program provides an important layer of safety for eligible survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and other forms of violence. By helping protect the confidentiality of a survivor’s address, the program can provide greater privacy, security, and peace of mind as survivors work toward rebuilding their lives.
For someone experiencing violence, safety is about more than physical protection. It can mean being able to live, work, go to school, access services, and rebuild a life without fear that their location will be discovered.
The life-saving work of the Address Confidentiality Program helps survivors take important steps toward safety and independence while protecting information that could put them at greater risk.
Through Voices Beyond Violence, we hope to bring greater awareness to this important work and help our community better understand the resources and protections available to survivors.
Survivors deserve to be safe. Survivors deserve to be heard. Survivors deserve the opportunity to build a future beyond violence.

Our seven Youth episodes will create age-appropriate conversations around issues that affect young people and their safety, including healthy relationships, boundaries, recognizing unhealthy behaviors, bullying, online safety, asking for help, and knowing where to find support.
Our youth conversations are designed to inform, empower, and give young people the knowledge and tools they need to recognize when something isn't right and know where they can turn.
Our Community. Our Voices.
Brockton and the surrounding communities are filled with people who care, people who have overcome tremendous challenges, and people working every day to create positive change.
Voices Beyond Violence gives those voices a platform.
We will bring together professionals, advocates, educators, community leaders, service providers, survivors, and individuals with lived experience to create conversations that inform, educate, and inspire.
Some conversations may be difficult. But we will also talk about solutions, strength, healing, prevention, empowerment, and hope.
