Title: Full Time (35 hours) Bi-Lingual Transitional Housing Coordinator


Reports To: Director of Domestic Violence Services

General Description: FCR is looking for a self-starting, bi-lingual individual who will take on the task of coordinating our 2 housing programs at FCR for survivors of DV and other under-served populations. The Bi-lingual Transitional Housing Coordinator will provide direct service as well as oversite of the second housing/empowerment specialist. Services include; providing rental, utility, and financial assistance services to help survivors, individuals and families, who are fleeing domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, dating/teen violence and who are survivors of human trafficking. This position also will maintain and develop relations with landlords to effectively house participants with multiple barriers and provide mediation when necessary after housing family/individual. The Housing Coordinator will work collaboratively with OVW, community stakeholders, and other program staff of FCR who are supporting families toward stability.

Responsibilities: Bi-Lingual Transitional Housing Coordinator is to supervise a HUD advocate and volunteers/interns regarding the housing program. Schedule and conduct needs assessments for program participants. Provide transitional support and intensive case management services for participants enrolled in the program. Coordinate move-in activities such as pre-lease signing, visual unit inspection, and procuring of move-in documents. Serve as liaison between participants, landlords and other housing stabilization and economic empowerment providers. Develop individual family stabilization plan by developing an action plan to resolve families’ barriers to overall stability, including permanent housing stability and economic independence. Plan and work weekly with program participants on goals re: housing search and economic stability (job search, educational goals, financial literacy, credit assessment), providing information, coaching, individual support, facilitating peer support, etc. Maintain accurate and complete forms and documentation as required. Create and maintain outcomes measurement data accurately and consistently. Attend and participate in regularly scheduled individual supervision, staff meetings, case review and DV team meetings, and ongoing professional development meetings and trainings. Participate in day/evening crisis on-call rotation. Complete other duties to ensure that program participants are provided with professional, empathic, safe, and affirming services within the context of FCR’s mission and consistent with legal, organizational, and funder requirements. This position requires three early evenings and occasional weekend hours to meet the needs of both survivors and the communities we serve.  

Qualifications: Independent and creative self-starter, motivated to build this new program. Must be bi-lingual. Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and must have 2-3 years’ housing and economic empowerment work experience. An understanding of trauma and working with survivors of domestic violence using an empowerment and social justice model.  Ability and passion for working with multi-cultural community. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Valid MA driver’s license and clean driving record. Good organizational and computer/data entry skills. Willing to work independently and as part of an exciting team providing a continuum of services for survivors/families. Must possess appropriate boundaries and understanding of, as well as, a commitment to, maintain strict client confidentiality.    

Salary Range: $24 - $26.50 per hour
