Advocate/Case Manager - Visitation and IPAEP Programs

Hyannis Location

Full Time: 35 hours, Tuesday – Saturday

                Two early evenings till 7:30 required

General Description: The Visitation Center provides advocacy, case management and supervised visitation services to further protect all program participants from verbal, emotional and physical abuse and to assist non-custodial parents in having safe, loving, nurturing visits with their child(ren). The Intimate Partner Abuse Education Program provides case management and group facilitation to men referred through court and DCF who have used power and control in their relationships. (Certification training paid for by FCR). This position is split between two of FCR’s programs and oversight will be by Program Coordinators. This is an on-site position.

Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day Program functioning and structure as assigned in Hyannis

  • Work collaboratively with Directors, Coordinators and staff to address programmatic and administrative areas of concern.

  • Provide direct services to clients accessing Supervised Visitation Services

  • Maintain order and cleanliness of the office, visitation spaces, and materials

  • Maintain valid certification in CPR and First Aid

  • Attend related training and community meetings as directed by Program Directors.

  • Maintain up-to-date client files and databases daily.

  • General office duties: taking/ returning telephone calls, recording all verbal and non-verbal communication; filing/faxing/scanning

  • Attend and participate in weekly supervision

  • Supervise visitation monitors

  • All other duties assigned by Program Directors

Job Requirements:

  • BSW or two years’ experience in a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience with case management and/or working with survivors of domestic violence of diverse communities (i.e. based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, age, gender identity, class, education, immigration status, etc.)

  • Ability to deal with crisis situations effectively and calmly

  • Ability to be flexible to accommodate immediate survivors and agency needs

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Availability to work evenings and one weekend day per week

  • Familiarity with community and social service agencies/resources locally and statewide

  • Ability to address conflict and contribute alternative solutions in a direct, constructive, and positive manner

  • Experience in creatively advocating and providing support to families

  • Some knowledge and experience with program development

  • Excellent listening/report writing skills

  • Knowledge of issues related to child development, substance abuse, and Domestic Violence

  • Must possess excellent judgment and interpersonal skills and work effectively both as a member of a team and independently. 

  • Knowledge of WORD, Excel, and data entry requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal skills; ability to assimilate information and communicate with various community partners and clients.

  • Ability to acknowledge and accept further responsibilities and direction of the Program Director, the Agency CEO and/or the Administrative Supervisor.

  • Must have a valid MA driver's license, clean driving record

  • Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus

Rate: Commensurate with experience -  $24.00- 26.00  per hour
