Part-Time Visitation Monitor, Family Stabilization Visitation Services

Community based non-profit organization is seeking a passionate, creative, motivated, and flexible person to serve as Visitation Monitor in our Family Stabilization Visitation Center. The Family Stabilization Visitation Program provides “family time” supervised visitation, transportation, and advocacy services for children in out of home placement through the Department of Children and Families (DCF) of MA and their parents while protecting participants from verbal, emotional and physical abuse. We stive to assist non-custodial parents in having safe, loving, and nurturing visits with their child(ren).

Responsibilities

  • Assist staff with maintaining a safe environment for all participants of the program.

  • Assist parents with building nurturing parenting skills as an alternative to abusive and neglecting parenting and child-rearing practices.

  • Provide accurate, written observation reports for supervised visitation.

  • Monitor participant adherence to the policies and procedures of the Visitation program.

  • Participate in weekly supervision.

  • Assist in the general operations of all designated visitation spaces.

  • Submit all relevant documentation as requested by Family and Community Resources, Inc. and the funding agencies.

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of Family and Community Resources, Inc.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or experience in Human Services, specifically Family Violence is desired. Understanding of mechanics of family violence, trauma, child development and appropriate parenting skills also desired. Experience working with mental illness, development disabilities and children on the spectrum highly desirable. Ability to maintain focus on the mission of the program while maintaining safety for all participants. Training is provided based on individual level of experience. Excellent writing and data entry skills. Experienced in Word and Excel.

Hours

21 Hours per week

Saturday 9:30 – 5:30 (1 hour unpaid lunch), Tuesday – Friday 3:00- 6:00 (days/hours are negotiable)

Salary Range

$18-$20 per hour

Benefits

This part-time position includes one hour of sick time for every thirty hours worked. Excellent supervision, ongoing training and supportive work environment provided.
